Our Summer Session is quickly approaching! Check out some of our NEW CLASSES which include: The Mini Mantle Clock, Pin Hinge Box, The Perfect Miter Corner Box, and The Fly Fishing Rod Case. Beginning Power Tools 100
Three, six hour sessions. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. June 14th-16th.
Cost: $220.00
Students will learn the safe operation of the table saw, jointer, and planer. The project for the class is a small bench. Stylish and practical, this bench will quickly find a place in your home, and you will be proud of your accomplishment. Tapered legs with mortise and tenon joint construction are features of the bench. Students will select their wood, then plane, joint, rip, crosscut, cut joints, and assemble their project. Great class for learning power tool operations. Finishing procedures will be discussed. Materials extra beyond the class enrollment fee.

Not all chopsticks are created equal. Create unique and handsome gifts for family and friends but beware, you may not want to give them away when you're done! We'll use a combination of power and hand tools to carve our chopsticks. The wood will be furnished along with all the instructions you'll need to create you own custom sticks. Spend some time becoming one with the wood. We'll be making two pairs and if time allows maybe a third and fourth pair. Join us for a fun and relaxing time. Materials included in the cost of the class.

Crosscut Sled Construction
Cost: $60.00
Crosscut sleds allow you to cut large work with ease. The extra support provided by the sled make the process safe and accurate time after time. They are perfect for cutting multiple lengths exactly the same size. You can also cut small pieces down to 2" long and do it safely. You will construction the basic sled during class and then you can take it home to your shop and tune it to your specific tablesaw. Cost of materials is included.

This is a two-week class. Total project time is 6 hours.

Wooden cutting boards are always a welcome gift. They don't dull knives and they just feel good to the touch. In this class you will build one face grain board and one edge grain board. Shapes will vary depending upon your selection. Learn what makes a good cutting board pleasant to the touch and a pleasure to pick up. Boards will be laminated for durability and added interest. Many of the steps to completion will include the use of power tools, but the best boards will always include hand work. Plenty of sample boards will be on hand to inspire. Finishing your board will also be discussed. Price includes the cost of materials.

We will work with Baltic Birch Plywood, Blum concealed hinges, edge banding, the Kreg pocket hole jig, and the shelf pin jig. Other types of cabinet construction, materials and techniques will also be discussed.

Mini Mantle Clock

Take the time to build this handsome and useful clock. It's perfect for the mantle or table top. Easy to make and no experience is required (helpful, but not required). Zebrawood or other exotic wood will be used in the construction of the clock. The clock features a Schlabaugh & Sons movement with white dial, black numerals and black bezel. It will use one AA battery (not included). Join us for this class, have a good time, and take home a fantastic project! Additional $12 shop fee made payable to the instructor on the day of the class.

No need to buy the usual butt hinge for this box. We will be using a small metal rod as the pivot point for the lid to function. Join us and learn the procedure for making these unique boxes. Some parts will be rough cut to save time but you will size and shape all the parts. Your project will be ready to take home when this class is over.

Taste of Turning - Bowl Making

The Perfect Miter Corner Box

This class is devoted to the construction of a small box with miter corners. Getting the perfect miter corner can be frustrating, but in this class it will be done with ease. Learn how during this session. Your box will have perfect miter corners, grain matching on three sides and feature decorative keyed corners. Each process will be done safely on the table. Two methods of creating the perfect miter will be used/discussed. The box will be complete and ready to take home this day. You can then create box after box using the procedures learned in class.
