Sears Trostel Lumber & Millwork is always on the look out for outstanding sales professionals with lumber experience to potentially join our outside and inside sales teams.  Sears Trostel is a direct and wholesale distributor of lumber and millwork materials to lumber dealers, contractors, homebuilders and commercial companies. The right candidates will represent the company providing sales and customer service to our customers  to generate new sales by gathering data related to customer needs and design specifications and acting as company liaison.

Sears Trostel offers products for various uses including but not limited to interior and exterior mouldings, cabinets, doors, stairs, wall paneling, beams and many more items. The company delivers these products to its customers throughout the week. Responsibilities of a sales role include:
- Ensuring business development and sales strategies are successfully implemented.
- Spends majority of daily activities making sales calls and obtaining new business with distribution customers.
- Develops effective sales techniques, familiarity with industry and products offered.
- Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships to grow revenue.
- Assisting the customers by reviewing their needs and offering the best product to fulfill the job.
- Entering customer orders and following up with the customer on the progress of thier orders.
 
Requirements include:
- A history of demonstrated success in lumber or building material in sales 
- Ability to organize time and identify key selling opportunities
- A positive, can-do attitude and desire to exceed expectations.
- A passion for developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
- Being a problem solver for the customer.
- Being able to provide a solid record of developing new business and maintaining large accounts.
- Valid Driver’s License
- 3+ years’ experience in an outside sales, business development role, or inside sales.

Retail Lumber & Millwork Sales Associate


RIVERSIDE LOCATION

Responsibilities:
Consult with customers on a wide variety of product and service needs, including:
  • The use and application of a wide variety of woodworking tools and supplies
  • The selection and installation of decorative millwork components such as base, door and window casing, crown moulding, corbels, etc.
  • The characteristics and properties of various domestic and exotic hardwoods and hardwood plywoods
  • The fabrication of custom wood components
Assist in the administration of one or more product lines by:
  • Regularly evaluating and making decisions regarding in-store stock item selection
  • Assist in the setup of in-store displays
  • Evaluate sales and inventory data to identify sales improvements and/or inventory reduction opportunities
  • Assist in initiating product promotional activities and ensuring thorough execution of each promotion
Work with our contractor accounts to better offer solutions by:
  • Completing work orders
  • Coordinating will calls and/or deliveries
  • Sourcing special orders

Retail Warehouse Worker


RIVERSIDE LOCATION

Successful candidates must be organized, conscientious, showing attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Exceptional customer service and computer knowledge a must, lumber background helpful. Candidate must be able to multi-task and have the initiative to take on new challenges with or without supervision. Clean driving record and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs required. Schedule with a Saturday rotation required.

Assistant Moulder Operator


AIRPARK LOCATION

The successful candidate must be highly motivated and have 2 years prior production machinery experience, good general mechanical and math skills and excellent troubleshooting skills. Daily tasks include tooling changes, machine adjustments, fabrication of parts to match shop drawings within tight tolerances, minor machine repairs and activities associated with production of hardwood mouldings in varying species. Ability to repeatedly lift up to 25 pounds required. Assistant will work in a team environment where the ability to take direction and follow through on assigned tasks is critical for success.

Machine Operator


AIRPARK LOCATION:

The successful candidate must be a motivated, self-starter who is organized, detail-oriented and mechanically inclined. Woodwork machinery experience with any of the following equipment is a strong plus:
  • Moulder
  • Planer
  • Widebelt Sander
  • Shaper
  • Tables
  • Radial Arm Saw
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and team building are beneficial.
